Press Release Body: SAN FRANCISCO-In a world where outer beauty is aspired to and adored, one program is going beyond traditional acting and modeling lessons to teach kids how to become role models in their daily lives in addition to helping them prepare to pursue careers as models and actors.
More Than a Model is a unique learning experience aimed at nurturing kids to be self confident, responsible and socially aware individuals with integrity and solid values.
Ranging from beginning to advanced, More Than a Model training topics include how to make positive first impressions, healthy eating, how to book a job, diction, and emotion. More Than a Model's fun and interactive program sessions are a one of a kind blend of intensive, in front of the camera studio training and education which includes dispelling common misconceptions about the entertainment industry.
Lane Kennedy, former model and 18-year industry veteran, founded More Than a Model based on her own career within the fashion and entertainment worlds. "Many of the problems associated with children in the entertainment industry stem from not having the self confidence and awareness they need from the very beginning. Our goal is to show kids how to be comfortable with who they are before they face the sometimes harsh realities of the industry," said Kennedy.
In addition, More Than a Model provides parents with the tools they need to successfully navigate their child's budding career including advice on everything from how to work with producers to how to manage a hectic schedule of auditions. "It's easy for parents and their children to be misled when they aren't informed of constant changes in this industry. My own experiences have compelled me to share what I know," said Kennedy.
Not exclusively for aspiring models and actors, Kennedy said More than a Model programs are confidence boosters for any child. "You don't have to want to be a model to benefit from our program. We are here to help children develop in to self-assured, well-rounded individuals. Every child leaves our program more secure than before," she said.
More Than a Model is located at 2325 3rd Street in San Francisco. The company is currently accepting enrollments for 2008.
